Every urban legend we hear has different variations of the story but the mean remains the same. So as with the ghost of stow lake or also known as the ghost of white lady.

The stow lake ghost is one of the oldest and most told urban legend for over a century now. The story rests in Golden gate park (San Francisco) which is known to have really creepy stuff happening there. The earliest incident sighted was on Jan 6, 1908. A drive allegedly named as Arthur Pigeon was pulled over by the police for over speeding limit. For what he said was terrifying or was just a story made up by him to get through the police. He saw a lady in the park bare footed with wet hair and dirty clothes. In a very strange voice she asked him

“Have you seen my baby?”

He was running far away from the park by car. So this is the earliest heard off sighting that gave prominence to the white lady ghost.

Like every other urban legend, this one also has many rumors around. We don’t know which one is true but most of them comply the same meaning.

Rumor 1: The most popular legend has been told over for more than 100 years.
The legends has it that a lady with her 3 children (1 in the stroller) was in the golden gate park for regular walk. While she was a bit tired so she sat across the bench in the park. There was already sitting another lady. They both started talking and the mother almost lost herself in the conversation that she forgot about the baby in the pram.

Suddenly the stroller got rolled out into the lake. When she turned only 2 babies were there and the 1 in stroller was not there. She tried searching every edge of the lake in a thought that the baby was abducted or something. She didn’t find the baby anywhere.

A sudden random thought came across her mind and she decided to check in the water of the lake. Last she was seen to walk into the lake water by her 2 other children in complete despair.

Was she searching for her baby or did she commit suicide?

After the investigation from the police, the baby was recovered from the lake immersed, but the lady was never found.

It is also said that the white lady had several sightings looking for her baby. Many have reported that they have seen the white lady asking for her baby.

Rumor 2: Another rumor has it that there was an unwed pregnant girl. She wanted to get through the baby and decided to murder him by sinking in the lake’s water.

Rumor 3: This rumor suggest that the lady has only one child and she was in the lake with her old friend. They decide to try boating as there was a beautiful environment there. While they reached the bridge, there was a group of young people who carelessly threw cigarette down and it fell into the pram.
The pram got fire. The lady tried to put water of the lake to the fiery pram but the boat turned upside down and mother and child along with her lady friend fell into the lake.

The lady didn’t know to swim but her friend did. She swam and saved her life. The lady yelled for help. Neither her friend nor the guys on bridge helped her.

The lady and her child sank into the water.

It is also said that, if you want to summon the ghost of white lady of the stow lake, you just use the following phrase 3 times-

“White lady white lady, I have your baby”

After that the white lady’s ghost will appear. She will ask you-
“Have you seen my baby?”

If you say yes, she will haunt you for your entire life. If you No, then she’ll kill you.

This phrase part seems funny though and doesn’t scare me at all. You can try it if you want to.

There is one statue in memory of Pioneer mother which is very near to the lake where this incident happened. This statue is the only statue of a female in the entire park.

The people has rumor to have sighted the statue moving face directions, facial expressions, crying and looking at the lake as its searching for something.

One strange thing across the whole story is Pioneer statue in the Golden gate park in stow lake.

In the statue, the lady is seen with 2 babies. The strange thing is, when you search pioneer mother online you will see the pioneer mother with 3 babies at many statues but here are only 2 babies while it is clearly visible in the statue that there is more than enough room for the third baby. Look yourself.

Even if we consider this a rumor, the white lady was left with 2 babies only. Did the white lady took the pioneer mother as a striking resemblance with 2 babies along and 1 missing as seen from the picture? Did she possessed or too homage or something to the statue of the pioneer mother.

There may be many rumors across the internet, but the 1^st is common and seems to be most ideally realistic but second rumor has also some valid possibilities. What do you think? Share your comments in the comment section below.

The red room curse is an internet based Japanese legend with a yet unknown origin. It is based on a pop up which appears on the victim’s screen. The pop up is red in color and something is written in Japanese on the pop up and along with the pop there comes a voice of girl(All in Japanese) asking Do you like--? 

No matter how much you try to close the pop-up it keeps appear again and repeating the words.

Do you like the Red Room?

According to the sources, the people who have seen the pop-up are found dead with their walls painted red from their own blood.

The red room became prominent at the time of Sasebo slashing when found as the top bookmark on a girl’s computer. Sasebo Slashing was the murder of a school girl 12 year old, Satomi Mitarai by an 11 year classmate of her. Know more about Sasebo Slashing.

It also acquired the space over internet when someone made a short film depicting the story. In that short film, the person comes across the pop up and suddenly felt someone standing behind him.

                                                                           

Also there is a flash video of a boy available on internet about the red room. Both of these are useless for you if you don’t understand Japanese.

The Red room has many stories across internet. Most common around them is the story of 2 boys discussing about the rumor of the red room pop up.

2 boys were discussing about the pop up on the video chat. Both signed off from the chat and started searching about it. One of the friends did not believe in any of this. He searched something and found nothing. He stopped searching and started the usual surfing internet, he accidently landed on some website which popped up a red box saying “Do you like--?” (All in Japanese) in the voice of a girl.

The guy closed the pop-up and after endless tries of closing it, the pop up kept appearing again and again. Everything about the pop up was the same but the question was now changed from “Do you like--?” to “Do you like the red---?” and then finally to “Do you like the Red room?”

Then suddenly a red screen appeared in front of him showing the names of the victims who have died by this curse, including the name of his friend at the last. He did not know that it was the name of the victims. Thinking it to be some kind of a prank by his friend, he tried calling his friend. The call got disconnected all the time. Suddenly, he realized that someone was standing behind him.

The next day, both the boys were missing and there was a rumor that two guys had committed suicide, painted their rooms red with their own blood. While investigating, the police found the second boy’s system and it had the same red screen with the name of these 2 boys in the last in order of their deaths. And the screen turned off.

The other names on the red screen might have been the previous victims.

Personally, I have not come across anyone who has been victim of the popup. Or it was created or originated. I think the story was made to scare people and it gained popularity.
There is no such way to check whether the curse is real or not. That’s what make legends like this cool. And makes the interest in the legends like this going.

What is Curse? Is it a living object which haunts people for years? Is it face of the evil spirit born of human fear that holds the pain forever and shows its suffering time to time? Is it something which remains in a dormant state and becomes alive at the time of the curse?

Can Curse hunt anyone? How does it hunt everybody down the same way? Well, May be....

Aisha, was a country girl from Malaysia, born and bought up in a village. But moved to Kuala Lumpur (capital of Malaysia) in 1984. She was suffering from a very rare disease that gave her Photophobia. Photophobia is not an eye disease. In this, the person gets highly sensitive to bright light an experience devitalizing headache. Photophobia in simple terms is light sensitivity or intolerance of light. The sources of which could be sunlight, fiery light, etc. In occasional cases, light sensitive people are sensitive to bright light but in extreme cases any light can be irritating to eyes. That is why, she used to wear dark glasses all the time. She never let anyone take pictures of her as the camera flash caused her dreadful, intense headaches. Everyone in her belongings knew about her problem.

One evening, at the office party, everyone was having fun and so was Aisha. She removed her glasses and was enjoying, when one of her colleague having camera took a picture and the moment flash went off, she doubled over in pain, suffered and collapsed. Soon the ambulance came and took her to the hospital. 

She stayed in the darkened room for 3 days. The man who took the picture apologized to her for his carelessness. She got discharged, but doctors asked her to take a long rest and gave her medication. She had to lose her job. Her landlord had some sympathy for her, looking at her conditions and allowed Aisha to stay there until she gets fine without giving the rent. She only went out at the nights to buy some regular use stuff and food. After a few days, she decided to move to her village.

That night, when it was dark, Aisha left house and was walking to the bus station when a car suddenly stopped in front of her. From the car, 4 men came out and passed some sleazy comments and misbehaved with her, when she retaliated, they grabbed her in their car and took her to the empty house in the outskirts of the city. 

They tied her to a chair. One of the guys took a knife and cut her clothes from her body. They humiliated her, laughed at her and beat her to the extent of humanity. One guy had a camera, he took it out to take her photos. Aisha tried her ways out to explain her condition to them about that how severe headache she gets from the flash, how she would suffer in unbearable pain. They ignored, made even more fun of her and beat her, she was crying out loud and trying to untie herself but she wasn't able to. They clicked one photo of Aisha and as soon the flash went on, she was in horrible, intense headaches.

They started clicking pictures of her while she was lying nude tied up to the chair and crying, beaten up. They kept on taking pictures after pictures beating her horribly, while she was lying naked. Soon, conditions got worse. Aisha was screaming with extreme intense pain but none of them stopped. Soon, blood came out of her eyes, nose and ears. After here unbearable conditions, she was in a state she couldn't even move. After hours of torture, they were bored of their toy. 

They decided to throw them over the bridge and so that she will drown. They took her, she was still tied up. While she was throwing her, one thing they didn't notice was that Aisha was saying something. 

She said "she will kill them all. Anyone one who will look at her pictures will die and it is she who will kill them all, everyone she will return and avenge herself."

Next morning, the men went to a photo studio to get the pictures developed. They gave the studio owner extra money to keep his mouth shut and let the contents of the pictures hidden. They also threatened to kill him. Then went home in their car. When they saw the pictures they started laughing in joy. Aisha was naked, helpless, beaten up and crying in the pic. It was a moment of laughter for them. 

Suddenly their car crashed into the tree. One of the branches of the tree smashed directly into the drivers head, he died instantly. The second man was taken to the hospital, he died the same evening.

Third man survived with minor cuts on the body and after binding him up, doctors let him go. On his way to home, he fell into a manhole and broke his leg, tried to climb up but, he didn't and as it rained that day heavily, he drowned as the water level rose in the sewer. 

Fourth man did not have a scratch over his body and went to his home. While he was sleeping, he had a dream of Aisha, she was in the same condition naked, heavy bleeding from nose, ears and eyes, several injury cuts on her body and face in helpless face and extreme anger. She began beating him with a stick so many times. When he woke from sleep, he felt the intense pain and it was increasing eminently. He couldn't control it and lost his mind, and stated stabbing himself with the fork continuously. 

He realized what he had done and realized that he was cursed by Aisha. He went to the nearest police station and handed himself to the police and accepted his crime that he committed on that frightful night showing police all the proofs and pictures. He was arrested and he told police where they had thrown her body. After hunting a while, police found out Aisha's body. But he was not unable to persist the headache any longer and he banged his head to the wall until his skull got crushed.  Police found Aisha’s body and identified by her fingerprints. Her body was sent for Autopsy.

While the doctor was taking her pictures, he was shocked to see that Aisha’s eyes got closed by the flash. The Doctor died next day and the reason was overdose of pain killers. That pictures later killed few other doctors and nurses in the hospital. Police tried to remove every presence of those pictures available. Some sources say that picture was posted online by someone. 

God know how many more, that picture has killed……

The question is-

1.       Aisha took her revenge, so why did she kill Doctors and nurses.

2.       As a victim of humiliation, she took her revenge so why is she still out there.
